Why Yoga Movement Therapy?

Think of it as the bridge between our beloved yoga sessions and holistic healthcare. Yoga Movement Therapy is a tailored approach, honing in on specific health issues, chronic illnesses, and emotional challenges.

To me, Yoga Movement Therapy has been a life-changing practice. Whenever my life seems to be spiralling, I connect back to my YT toolkit to become more grounded and able to listen for the whispers before my body needed to scream at me.

This was never more apparent than in 2019 when my sister, husband, and sister-in-law were all diagnosed with cancer. As I was using my tools to stay calm in the storm, my body told me that something wasn’t right.

A visit to my Doc and an ultrasound revealed a large tumor in my left ovary. I immediately had radical surgery, which got it all.

Because I had no obvious symptoms, it could easily have been overlooked! This was an important lesson in listening to my body.

So what’s new in Kat’s world?

Aging In Balance

Did you know that age 66 is the beginning of the autumn of our lives? Well, being an October child, I’ve always loved fall so let’s see what it has waiting for me!

My passion is helping people find confidence to be the best version of themselves. It may be through a great hairstyle, learning their personality or feeling more confident in their body and their skin. I grew up shy and lacked confidence. As my confidence grew over the years, I was inspired to share the things that helped me feel more comfortable in my skin. Over the years I have been drawn to learn and grow. Hairstyling, Fitness, Yoga, Zumba, Personality Insights. I have taught and done stage work, enjoying it all! I believe that I’ve helped and encouraged my clients and students with the knowledge and connections that I’ve been able to share.

As my husband and I cruised through our 60’s, we started to encounter some challenges. We have enjoyed being active and healthy until a few years ago. We cycled in the Ride to conquer Cancer for 9 years. I’m talking hours of training to ready ourselves for a weekend of at least 230km. We love to be outdoors. Hiking, kayaking, golfing….Bob even tried running with me , but his knees!! After a cancer diagnosis in 2019, things have changed and we are learning to cope and adjust along the way. I hope some of my stories can inspire and inform you. I’m no expert but I have had to dig deep for the info we need to keep going forward, in balance.
